Blockland on Ubuntu FPS Problem

I have Ubuntu 11.04, i386. Wine version 1.3.

I can load Blockland just fine, except there is one problem when playing.

The game is almost unplayable because of all the lag i get. I can't even simply go onto small builds like Cat's Grapple Knife TDM before getting short lag spikes, or a really long one.

Can someone help? People all over google when I search say that it's supposed to run faster than windows, but when I borrow a windows comp to play it on, it runs a hell of a lot faster than Linux.

(Yes, I even lag on Beta City 16)

My other family members are running 3 windows 7 computers on the internet network.

The problem here is that you're using an outdated version of Wine. With Wine 1.3 I would get at least 35 fps, but with 1.4, I get 80+.

you could try 1.5 as well

and it's a lot slower for me on ubuntu, but it was faster on my old computer, probably because it actually had a video card.
