I recommend pretty much anything rated 7+ though from op it seems you haven't sussed out your genre interests yet.
The 'big 3' Naruto, Bleach and One Piece you might enjoy, they are generally so popular because they are what gets people into anime in the first place, though once you move past that and start watching more diverse series' you realize that those 3 are pale in comparison to less known animes.
For a starting anime I would highly recommend Hunter x Hunter.
