DOORS: JVS or Rotondo's .blbs?

Personally I much prefer JVS. The reasons are thus:

* Better tools - JVS doors are based on models. This means there's quality, mature tools out there to create them, and the scripting involved is trivial. BLB is, as a format, fairly simple - but there's still no sign of supported tools to work with them. Zack0wack0's utilities are functional at best, but have a lot of weird quirks and don't actually use the quad system properly or deal with UV coords, so you need to understand a lot more and do a lot more work to create a single functional BLB brick.
* Animation - speaks for itself. There's a charm to the lack of animation, I'll admit, but it generally looks strange to my eye.
* No frames - this is the #1 thing I hate about the BLB doors. They have frames attached. I use double doors quite often on larger areas, so this is a huge downside for me personally - but as a general thing it limits the doors to a prescribed purpose.
Personally I also interpret the supposed "mismatched style" of a modelled door as a plus, too - it gives a clear indication of what's interactive, so I quite like it.

Really, about the only thing BLB doors have going for them in my eyes is that they're included in the game. I'd much rather see JVS have the little issues ironed out and made default, though.

My only problem with BLB doors is the lack of animation which is really neat on JVS doors. Otherwise I'm all for BLB doors.

I was referring to the current doors

This is a really good point[/list]

Jvs door bricks were buggy and wouldn't render for me untill I open the door, but them It doesn't let me walk through the empt space.

I Love Rotondo's doors they are Easy, and simple to use wih no events.

Um. They have events.

I don't understand how people have so many technical problems with JVS.
I haven't seen any of these issues.
