Edit: I like the iPhone 3 over the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4 is too chunky and doesn't feel right in your hand.

Any device 2009+ is still supported right now. Give it 3 to 5 years after you purchase your device, and expect it to drop off then.

Yeah, windows for example, supports an os for a decade after release. XP is still very much a valid OS choice.

The second gen iPod is over 4 years old. What do you expect? Them to go out of their way to develop things for something that old? The hardware it has probably doesn't work with the newer iOS versions.

I have a 2nd gen iPod touch. It works just as well now as it did when I bought it. Now why should I have to shell out another £100/£200 for another one, when half of the apps on the app store don't even utilise the newer iPod's features? Hey Apple, IBM invented touch screen technology. Stop sueing people just their phones have touch screens and round corners too. Hell apple didn't even event the touchscreen phone, IBM made the first touch phone.

More like half of the apps would crash 50% of the time because of hardware support. My iPad's ArtStudio and Sketchbook Pro crashes consistently because it just doesn't have the processing power the newer iPads utilize. Apple isn't going to develop for outdated technology and rightly so.
