--- Quote from: Böltster on October 28, 2012, 03:24:20 AM ---that's not true at all. my idea in and of itself is a way to get a value without counting bricks. players suggest a value of the build. the value is then averaged and the owner earns a dividend of this value. --- End quote --- > I hate the builder > I'm voting for a low value out of spite or > I'm friends with the builder > I'm voting for the highest value out of friendship |

A player council is a nice idea, though I think its a step too far. Perhaps a single figure, like in that building mod Wallet made (not RoB). I'm not sure what a council could do with property value. Are you suggesting a board of people do the value? Or anyone can vote? |

--- Quote from: Sheath on October 28, 2012, 03:38:19 AM ---Averaging bogus values won't really prevent imbalance. --- End quote --- no, but averaging and removing outliers brings it closer to an appraised value of QUALITY than brick count will. that's the whole base of this idea. brick count doesn't reflect quality, and quality is what you want. using brick count means that people with either big-high-quality, or big-low-quality builds get rewarded the most - that leaves people with small-high-quality builds out of the picture. --- Quote from: Sheath on October 28, 2012, 03:38:19 AM ---A player council is a nice idea, though I think its a step too far. I just think having a council of some sort included adds a layer of verification AND creates a great platform for RP (vote 1 boltster) this is all based on the premise that you want to encourage and reward high quality builds. if for whatever handicapped reason, that ISN'T the aim, just let me know and i'll take my ideas elsewhere |
| Christopher P.:
Use BOTH. Amount of bricks AND player votes would factor in. Also you could factor in how many unique players have stepped on the build as well. |
