I remember when Blockland had a sub-1k ID base and everyone who didn't transfer from an older version of the game was basically unwelcome. It was pretty funny.

I blame the mappers who thought maps=building, the paranoid people who think ever is a build stealer, family rps, poorly made deathmatches. I remember in the early days Clans were cool and big part of the game, we have interesting stuff like Mr. Wallets Tycoon thing, and people were friendly and mature to some degree. Perhaps creating some themed build servers.

This. Blockland's community never got much bigger, all the same people seemed to stick with it and gradually those people are getting older and have more things to attend to.
