This seems like a pretty shallow religeon.
Is there any other things going on with these people other than just believing in one single god and being nice and charitible?

This is what had me hooked

Quote
Core beliefs

The central theme of Bahá’u'lláh’s message is that humanity is one single race and that the day has come for humanity’s unification into one global society.  Bahá'ís believe in:

the oneness of humanity
the common origin and unity of purpose of all world religions
the harmony of science and religion
equality of women and men
the elimination of all forms of prejudice
a spiritual solution to economic problems
the establishment of a world commonwealth of nations

How are there new religions forming?
I think were at the point where science has almost completely disproven most religious claims, to the point where its stupid to believe in any higher power.

It isn't always about higher power.  The focus of religion, at least in theory, should be to focus the person:  the person's emotional, mental, physical well-being.

Also, don't under-estimate people's ability to abuse positions of authority or create new ideas.

Although you're basically right, this religion promises harmony between science and religion, giving it a bit more credibility. At least it's better then other religions.

Still a belief in a god.

Buddhism and many other eastern wisdoms don't believe in a deity or even care about one.

Again, these wisdoms should focus on the person's emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

You don't really need a religion to do those. But if we replaced Christianity with Baha'i or Buddhism, the world would certainly be a better place.

But many religions create a good framework to facilitate these things.  Christianity suggests many of the same moral truths as Buddhism and Baha'i was based off of world religions, including Christianity.

There is just the unfortunate truth that there are many bad people who either they themselves or someone else considers them Christian.  This is the same with any religion.  Look at the heart or core truth of any wisdom and the religions seem to be the same if not similar, hence Baha'i.

Ha.

HAHAHAHA

ahh, good one

Buddhism teaches all sorts of interesting life improvements. I'm sure Baha'i is similar. Christianity, however, teaches some very awful lessons. The Bible has many verses supporting atrocities, family values, and loveism.

There are, of course, the good and the bad in every religion. But fundamentally, Buddhism has much a much better foundation.

wat
We would still have the same problems, if not more.

On-Topic: Religion is a man made thing anyway so i'm not surprised this has come about. How many religions are there anyway?
