Author Topic: Minecraft server talking smack  (Read 625 times)

Howdy, I have 25565 open on my ports, have my ip in the server settings, no errors when I host. But when I open minecraft, my server that i have added to show up when I goto the multiplayer menu says it cant connect, I did everything I did before and it worked, even re watched the tutorial i followed when i hosted for friends. But it just won't work! Is there some other option stuff that I'm missing?

nonono use that for other people.

press start
type cmd in the search box
type ipconfig in the cmd prompt and look for your ipv4 adress and use that as your ip for anybody on your network.

you can also use localhost as your IP if you want.

Nonononono
You have to use your other ip. It's usually 127.0.0.1, although the zeroes are sometimes different.
Someone fetch this guy the console command that gives the ip-

Nope. You have to connect with your local IP, not the one used by others to connect.

Ok, so there might not be a problem xD thanks!

What if my brother on his computer in the same house wants to connect, can he use the one I would give to friends outside of my house?

Pretty sure he would use localhost as well. Then again, you could just try both.
