A replacement for the bot events?

I used the bot events whenever I wanted to make an adventure type of game, and now I think that the element of other blockheads being there without actually being there is lost. I used them a lot. I don't quite remember the exact reason for the removal of the bot events, but I was wondering if it would allow a new set of bot events to be made. Ones, of course, that can't be abused in the way the previous ones were.

Maybe half of them. I stopped using them a while ago.
It doesn't appear in the add-ons list anymore.

How were the bot events abused? I was surprised to see it CDC banned.
