I'm looking into buying some Sculpey product because your work is inspiring. But, If Super Sculpey simulates skin texture, what would I use to make metal-in-appearance objects? And is there a place where I could by the parts for a humanoid frame?

Thanks for the comments, guys! Some other hands and a melee weapon.
it should be a machete with the same palate as the shield.

head and upper torso look weird as forget compared to the ultra detailed pants and shieldy-thing

add a trenchcoat and/or hair maybe?

Excuse me?  Sculpey doesn't simulate any texture, you need to create texture.  It's a sculpting medium, that's what you do.  They're relative, but I don't believe you'd be able to buy a good, action figure human body for cheap, and you wouldn't be able to use super sculpey productively with it.  I don't use bases.  I only use joints from other figures, which I scratch build to work with the figure/create different joints to begin with.  Here are some huge listings for some odd joints, I only own some of them, considering I use joints from other toys/etc, but these will work well:

It's going to be a tomahawk, actually.

Pants are just drybrushed to simulate a different material, the shirt is tight and a much more smooth fabric.  He has one eye, if you couldn't figure that out.  I'm not going to give him hair, that'd be absolutely ridiculous.

Sorry, I was just going by what I had read on the internet.

I'm assuming that I'm reading this wrong.

Also are you saying that all I really need to do is ravage a cheap Gundam/revoltech figurine for joints and I'm good? Cool.

It's the color tone, not the texture.  It really doesn't work like that, the clay is too inconsistently mixed.  If you get it just right, it will, but I've never seen anyone use it productively like that.  You always want to paint.

How did you make the figures waist joint?

How did you make the figures waist joint?
You mean the abdomen?  Two sockets with a double joint inbetween, upper socket has room for leeway, so it can adjust up and down.

So this is a double joint? Do you have any previous pictures of the joint before assembly?

It's just a ball attached to another ball by a peg.

Have you been known to use tools in the way you form your sculpey or is it done mostly by hand?

General shape by hand, rest with tools.  I obviously use both inconsistently to acquire different looks, it really just depends.  But I use a tool most of the time -- you won't see me applying detail with my nails or something stupid like that.
