We all loved the bedroom and half of the community would be overjoyed if the past generation came back. You can load the Bedroom save, which does pretty good for a substitute.

no, maps aren't coming back for a while, if ever
sure they were fun but look at them shaders

maps are dumb
the only reason anyone had any reason to use them was so they could host a server and have a backdrop without actually having to do anything, attracting players without any effort on their part
i like having only slate, because not only is that the only place i ever use and the only place anyone else ever uses to build stuff but it also forces people to build stuff if they want to appear attractive
