Iran could retaliate, but every penny counts to them. Right now, they're suffering from massive inflation. If they sent troops or a nuclear strike heading toward Israel, they would be throwing away money.

The entire Israeli country is built upon ethnic and religious elitism, which is a big reason I hate it. I am a proud Palestinian and my family heritage dates back many many years BC in the holy land. I've been to the West Bank several times to visit family and I was stopped a quite a few checkpoints and thoroughly searched. I can't imagine how tight security is at the Gaza border.
Israel's the Christian guy with the baseball bat among his less physically-buff Muslim foes. He's buff because we give him steroids support, and we always will. Point is, Obama isn't going to stop helping Israel.
