Alright so you're probably like "hiiro wtf is this another stuffty indie game that's not gonna get a nice OP?" and to that I say "ayup"
anyways this game is like super in depth.
Like REALLY in depth.
like wtfbbq in depth.
goblet grotto is amazing. your grotto toad constantly communicates its mental states to you via a series of 5 glyphs at the top of the screen, somewhat like the old game “Captain Blood” in which you communicate by proxy to strange beings. click the screenshots for the translated glyphs in the captions.
your grotto toad starts so fresh and innocent, often starting the game by saying something like “HELLO / HELLO FRIEND / TOAD / GOBLET / HELLO”
and then further into the caverns, once your toad has been savaged by skeletons and wolves and crocodiles and goblet men, and you’ve been murdering npcs for their meat, and your toad is so depressed that he’s crawling instead of running, he’ll start saying things like “DESPAIR / DESPAIR / I DON’T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING / DEATH / DEATH” or “I REGRET EVERYTHING / I HAVE BEEN SUBMERGED IN FILTH / I HAVE BEEN SUBMERGED IN FILTH / DEATH DEATH DEATH / DEATH”
The game is extremely non-linear so you can do a lot.
You need to eat, and you need to sleep to regain health. If there's a long period of not eating/sleeping/finding goblets you get debilitated, fix that by finding out what your toad needs and getting goblets/eating/sleeping
