She shouldn't have. No reason to lose your job over a joke that was taken badly by facebook star fishes.
Well, it's kind of like saying to someone who died for your country and can't even be recognized, that they are nothing.

Yep. You're allowed to do that.

Yep. You're allowed to do that.
So? It's extremely disrespectful, joke or not. Someone valued the safety of their country more than the safety of their very own life, and a bitch like her basically says that she doesn't give a flying forget.

Your point is irrelevant. We have free speech.

it said she resigned

if i go to your house every day and stuff on your porch, you will eventually move. are you wrong for pissing me off so i stuff on your porch every day or am i wrong for making you move because you pissed me off?

not exactly sure why you think that a soldier who has died in the last 67 years was defending our rights, liberty or the safety of citizens lol

korea, vietnam, iraq, any other war after WWII have been fighting to resolve absolutely none of our business besides reserve oil and so on and so forth

This is stupid, not the woman but everyone supporting the woman being fired. forget you, how do you expect to have free speech when you go "YEAH, forget ER" when people are fired for using their rights.

I'm pretty sure freedom of speech protects you from the government punishing you directly for your expressed opinions, and not a blanket protection from all the people you would be pissing off. Walk into an ethnic ghetto yelling racial slurs (because racism is also funny), see how well your freedom of speech protects you there.

I'm pretty sure the woman's poorly executed "sense of humour" is a bigger problem than those people she offended. Showing disrespect for others comes back around, you know? The world isn't perfect for everyone. I thought you kids realized this.

Your point is irrelevant. We have free speech.

The context of that right is to protect you from being incarcerated by your government for criticizing it, not protecting you from backlash from all sources for being a loudmouth. Sure the law may say it, but it isn't reality.

Don't forget aid to citizens in oppressed countries (because guess what, the military doesn't kill everyone all the time). The quickly expanding USSR was totally not a threat at all, I agree.

Most of us also have the ability to be a decent person.
Do you think Westboro Baptist Church Protests are completely fine and dandy?

Also, everyone in that facebook page was also expressing their right to free speech by communicating their desire for her to get fired for her disrespect. How are you all getting upset at that?

any other war after WWII

plus do you really think that the USSR's downturn (in what, ten years?) was caused by us attacking vietnam and korea?

yeah i do because i believe that Americans, bigots or not, have a right to protest peacefully. sorry for liking the Bill of Rights!

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
the quote speaks for itself (get it? speaks? haha, I crack me up)
she's an idiot but she's completely allowed to do this and everyone needs to stop bitching about it and let her be a forgettard

Not a direct cause, but it definitely factored in. Many things were also learned from the short-term failure in Vietnam. The Korean war also helped ensure South Korea and Taiwan their independence.

Do you also agree that corporations can give (at least indirectly) millions of dollars to preferred presidential candidates with virtually no limits? Because that's also free speech under the same government that bases its law off of these principles.

imagine if your school gave you a suspension because you went home and said forget.

not sure why you think companies messing up elections falls under free speech

last time i checked that's not even remotely close to it

Actually it legally does, money is speech

imagine if your school gave you a suspension because you went home and said forget.

The company itself didn't pressure her to resign.
