Buy bricks with money
Every brick you place is $1. Lot bricks would also cost less as the money you put in to the lot is the actual bricks you place. Tax would be 1/10 the money you used to build the lot.

Sounds neat, but at the same time people would spam more frequently I believe. Some people would just want a shelter, whereas others would be trying to fill the lot space. It also means one person can own an entire zone of lots rather than 1 or 2

I think I saw a more finished version of that with like custom models and everything for like clues, it sounds cool, but is it anywhere near DONE?
