City RPGs - all the problems, your solutions

Randomness:

City3 is still in the late brainstorming phases.

I think its time we had a fresh new look at the CityRPG itself.

¥ola:

You see, I don't join these large projects anymore because I don't want to let a group down if something happens and I have to go offline for maybe weeks at a time.

I told Glass I would help them out with any coding they didn't understand, not that I was a part of a large team or whatnot, and I made that same exact offer to Dionysus and to be honest, anyone else.

AdinX:

Dony, I never insulted jazz, I was simply curious why he was removed, apparently against his will.
Barn raises a good point. I remember one city server that was very unique with a strong focus on economy; you could sell food, bricks or gas (for jets), and they were mostly tied together. You need bricks to make more food, food to work, jets to reach far places and cheap prices. And when certain areas prospered, the roads upgraded... THAT was fun, that was a good example of a functional server... But that's like one of 20 things needed for a city RPG server.
It's reasons like this that lead me to believe that City RPGs will never be anything too special, and more time should be spent on the actual building and Rp portion...

Yola, saying you'll help with coding if they don't understand is essentially "I'll code for you"

Also, Dony, glass' city RPG? How Thorfin and jazz are part of it? Keep in mind, you ALMOST hosted with furdle. And Thorfin USED Brian. sagacity and I were his co-hosts. We're an original trio. We've worked as a team of 3 since 2010. We all text and Facebook regularly, brian kinda just happened to be there with us; Thorfin never introduced him, and we didn't really bother eachother. He did his stuff, we did ours.
Thorfin saw no urgency to control the server because his views of city RPGs are fairly close to my own; they are temporary distractions, fun to build, but controlling and maintaining them is a pain in the ass.

On that note, sagacity and I have a server focused on the building and player-interaction portion of cities. No mod, simply just a pre-built city with lot spaces and awardable trophies. Only reason it's down is because currently, for the thanksgiving vacation, we are both busy. Thor would be with us if he wasn't busy building for glass.

Thorfin and JazZ aren't the problem, Glass is. What boggles my mind is why they are working with him.

I tried to escape Furdle when he started dropping my close friends on completely senseless reasoning, and straying from our original terms, and with the wonderful city he had assembled, he figured he would assert his right to be admin. I avoided this because of bad circumstances, and told Jasa about how good the city was, I was basically on RTB using reverse psychology and trying to make myself look like the bad guy to Furdle, and they eventually complied to each others' guidelines, on Furdles part, probably mostly reluctantly.

This is exactly what I'm doing with events.
