apparently dota 2 doesn't want me to learn how the forget to play.

like, the tutorials button on the play menu is greyed out and "learn" just gives me a forgetton of informational noise.
i also can't find the controls or a how-to-play in the game.

help?

Don't worry about damage types, that only makes it SEEM more complicated. Majority of damage is Pure, Magical, or Physical.
