doubt it. not saying she wasn't doing anything wrong, but you definitely would have been at fault for the accident
No, he's right.

She had two major traffic violations, that would've been her fault if he hit her.

yes, I do. that's irrelevant anyway, as it doesn't take a driver to see that a car isn't moving. since you say you thought she was turning, you must have realized she wasn't moving at an appropriate speed. aaaand that means you should have paid attention to her. 15 seconds away at 45mph is a good distance

Seconds Left) Thoughts
15) Thought she was moving somewhere.
10) Saw that she was still there, figured she would realize that she had the green.
5) Realized that she wasn't moving.
5) Stopped car.
0) Honked Horn.
0) No reply. She wanted to finish her text.
0) Honked again.
0) Car moves, puts phone down.

I'm pretty sure she knew she wasn't moving on green. I was the only car behind her, and I was 15 seconds away. She probably didn't realize that I was coming. She just wanted to finish her text.

She was texting, and impeding traffic (as a result of texting). Both of those are primary offenses in my state. I did nothing wrong. I assumed she was going to do something within the 10 seconds she had. Phones kill.

I remember right after I got my temps, my parents came to pick me up in our 1999 Chevrolet Suburban LT.  Along the main road we take there are two lights about 15 seconds apart from each other, they were both green, so my dad goes through the first, gets to the second but traffic has it backed out into the intersection, so he gets across and stops with about 1/6 of the truck still in the actual intersection.

Then a lady who was texting in a beat up minivan with two kids in the car, plows into our rear-end.  My dad was pissed off, the lady's minivan was totaled, the entire front of the minivan went from about 3 feet long to 1 foot.  The front of the minivan's chassis hit the tow hitch of the suburban, only leaving a fleck of paint on the suburban.

The lady had no insurance, was texting, and had two kids in the car, that's all I heard of it

someone could be texting, and all sorts of other stuff, and I'd still see it as his fault if he hit them in this situation. I don't understand how that could have made it her fault, anyway

what happened in those five seconds that made you see that she wasn't moving? when she was still there, that's the time you should've realized. it shouldn't have even taken that long

she should write an essay on what not to do at a stoplight
lol'd

I don't drive, but I see lots of idiotic drivers on the road.

People who text and drive don't deserve to drive.

If she was sitting at a red-light texting, and I hit her, my fault. She wasn't impeding traffic. If she was sitting at a green light in the middle of traffic texting, and I hit her, it's her fault. She was impeding traffic, and as a result of something she could have avoided by not texting.

I realized that she wasn't moving at 10 seconds. She was too fed up with her phone to check the light. 20 seconds (15 for me to get there, 5 for me to get her to move) and not checking at a light is ridiculous. We can agree on that, hopefully. I thought that she was going to start moving within the time she had. But again, her phone was more important. 5 seconds, I realized that she wasn't moving, and therefore came to a stop.

I thought that she was going to start moving within the time she had.
you should always assume that every other driver is an idiot and will do everything wrong

you should always assume that every other driver is an idiot and will do everything wrong
I did assume that, and she did do everything wrong. 20 seconds and not checking the light is just handicapped, and extremely dangerous. I slowed down to about 40 to give her time to do something. But as it turns out, she really was too fed up with her phone.

I got in a wreck with someone who was texting while driving, and because I'm on my permit, I got in trouble.. :c

wanna "text" while driving while not breaking the law?

get an email address and email and drive.

congrats you are now legal while doing the same things you love.

facebook is also a viable solution for your handicapped intentions.

Any hands-free device is illegal in my State (minus GPS / In-Dash things).

you said you "almost plowed into" her
that's an exaggeration, or you weren't doing everything right

Plowing into someone simply means rear-ending them.
