I've yet to see a serious medieval RP.
I was banned from the space one for defending myself against spawnkilling.
Western would be pretty decent, but hard to accomplish anything exciting.
And if these are the only things you can come up with... oh geez. There's a huge area to expand your imagination for sure.
-Futuristic, but not limited to space.
-Fantasy (historical, modern, and futuristic), where different sentient species (orcs, aliens, etc), magics, and other supernatural things are involved. Zombies would fit under modern fantasy.
-Otherworldly, as in, another planet, dimension, whatever, there's actually endless possibilities down this road, but still focusing on realism.
-schoolgirl rape simulator
-Steampunk
-Future apocalypse (nuclear fallout, global flooding, plague, sun died, etc)
-Digital World (in a digital world, geddit?)
-Demonic world (or maybe both a normal world and demonic world)
And then you include that these can be mixed together and even expanded on.

orcs and wizardry, pretty much medieval in magicland. zombies? zombies = zombies. aliens? space. ghost/horror stuff? hmrrrr.
