Yeah, I tried out making a new city connected right next to it.
To get an idea of what the result was, it was matched with Caliglas within the first few minutes. (Actually better in terms of profits. It was getting +6,000 every month rather than Caliglas's +1,000)
I planned very poorly for transportation, however, and I'm having major traffic problems.
I did better with overall placement though.
