Monitor says "out of range" when i start up Metro 2033

As far as I know, Metro starts in your native resolution, even on first launch. It could be a fault with your monitor.

well when i went to that .cfg the settings were something like 1640 x 1024 or something, my native settings are 1280 x 1024 also my monitor is a few years old
