I find donations rediculous for addons to a torque sandbox game. Really, speed up production? How.

I never said it would speed up production, I said you got perks.
That being said, generally speaking. If you give someone money to do something, as apposed to having him do it without any kind of incentive, will he do it more or less?
If someone donated me 20$, there is going to be a compulsion to "pay it back". Granted, I'm sure there are money grubbers out there who would simply ignore donations all together (I hopefully not one of them).

And hey, You don't have to pay if you don't want to, that's the point of donations.

How about a gimmick named "Alien"? The weapons would look extremely weird and alien-like (a bit like the eridian ones from Borderlands) and instead of dealing massive damage, they could have really strange effects (like the horse ray). Stuff like freezing, unable to use weapons, shrinking and maybe something, that would act like the slag weapons from Borderlands 2 (slagged enemies take more damage from other weapons)
