Honestly, the only competent admins on Tezuni's servers are the SA's, and because there are so few of them, it's rare to see one. Most of the mods are alright (with a few kick happy ones), and the only Admin that sticks out in my mind as decent is Bubba (I might have forgot a few of you but you get the point).
Yeah, we need better admins, we know. I apologize for people having a stuffty time on this server. It's sometimes hard to ban every freekiller because we have to actually see it happen because everyone can just scream "omg frekil" when they die. I refuse to ban someone simply because one guy screamed about dying, in order to avoid falsely banning someone and coming off as an starfish. Personally I ban if I've either seen it happen, or it's really obvious (3+ kills in a row with those people accusing the person of freekill)
I can't count how many times people have called me lazy for "not banning freekillers"... of course I ban them, but I want proof. I need proof. I won't ban someone just because they've been accused of something, I can't read minds and I don't know if they've really done it. I don't have a way to see what everyone is doing all at the same time, my methods include /spy rotation (start at top of list, work way down, repeat), playing as a prisoner and observing guards carefully, and listening to chat and asking potential offenders questions. None of these methods are 100% foolproof and honestly I don't manage to make many bans (however obvious freekillers are dealt with almost immediately, I won't put up with people who treat it like a TDM).
Sure, we can ban anyone accused of freekilling and some of the time it'll be justified, however the other portion of the time it was just a misunderstanding or a mistake. If I banned everyone who's ever been accused of freekilling, a very big fraction of the server would be banned. This is the flaw of a Jail RP/Escape, banning will either make or break the server. It's easy to ban people on a whim, but I would hate to be banned from any server myself so I guess it's just a personal thing that I'm willing to give people second chances sometimes, and I want solid proof before I ban someone. This isn't saying administrating a Jail RP is impossible, however it's not exactly mindless button pushing either. I'm aware it can be done well, but with the admin team we have right now and the frequency they occur in the server, it's not on the horizon at the moment. Yes, we know this sucks, yes we know the server needs improvement, yes we're trying to fix it.
I've been playing the server for a while today, and I've had some problems myself. I don't really know how long I should ban people for. I banned someone permanently earlier for freekilling 5 people in a row including myself, but the ban was met with someone stating it was too harsh. If that's too harsh for killing 5 people, where should I draw the line? I thought it was a fair ban. Someone who's willing to do stupid things 5 times in a row should get the hell out of the server ASAP.
tl;dr I'm sorry many of you aren't happy with this server, if any of you play this server and you have issues feel free to PM me or RTB me or something and I'll see what I can do, also please have some sort of 100% evidence other than screaming at the guy for shooting you. You can also politely ask me to observe someone if I'm in the server (I'm so tired of people screaming "SPREADS THAT GUY FREEKILLED ME BAN HIM" over and over and over).
