Whatever you do, don't get a wireless mouse. I mean, unless you like eating batteries and having a jittery cursor.

Yes you can. I play TF2 competitively with a touchpad.

This is the best mouse that I have ever used. It's lasted me years of extreme use on no mouse pad.
