Yes they are, but they aren't impressive when you're working with a figure with only 5 joints in it's whole body.

Controls in that game are fine, the game isn't really a FPS like Blockland as much as it is a 3D platformer/third person shooter.

i know but the characters are so goddamn slow and the physics, after more than 7 years STILL haven't been fixed. sometimes i play my friend's very nice racetrack places he still makes. since the horrid new vehicles are impossible to control, i have to walk over the track in order to see the contents. i still randomly trip and fly into infinity for no reason. i thought they'd have at least fixed that but they didn't.
