| My parents are skeptical about me hosting. |

Back in 2008 I tried hosting and by opening my ports over 600 people tried to gain access to my network within a 5 minute time period. None of them got through and I've now been hosting for 4 years without a single attack. |

--- Quote from: Acerblock on December 29, 2012, 04:42:50 PM ---Hello, parents of Anikan 911. All port forwarding does is redirecting the connection of ports to specific network addresses. So basically, if you port forward Blockland, you make your router connect to the master server through a port (port 28000 is the most common.). Port forwarding does not open your Internet to hacking because it has nothing to do with your firewall or security. Port forwarding, if done correctly, is completely safe. --- End quote --- Uhh i think in v12 or somthing there was update that you now longer need to portforward to host a bl server, i never had portforwarded and i still can host a bl server. |

One time I portforwarded, and I was hacked by some guy in Germany. He downloaded all of my passwords on to his hacking device, stole all of my files, and replaced my desktop background with goatse. It is a highly risky process... |

But yeah, it works on some routers. |
