My friend Meteor told me about this.
Apparently it teleports you to a glitched version of the map you're in. If any actions are used in the Far Lands, your player will glitch out momentarily and the screen will shake.

Couldn't you really only glitch underground? I mean, you could go on infinitely up or in any other direction.

I did that. You just fall endlessly.
