You think other engines don't have to sacrifice functionality for performance? That's the nature of computing power, you can't just have both. A crazy amount of work has gone into making sure that Blockland can handle 256,000 bricks in view at one time. Do you think the Crysis engine could cope with that?

Like I said, you just have no understanding of what you're talking about. Blockland isn't a vehicle simulator, it's for building with bricks - and it does that incredibly well at the moment. I didn't need reassured of that.

Being accurate and being a jerk should not go hand in hand. If you were 100% sure that this wouldn't happen, you wouldn't even bother responding. Yes, I realize that this probably wouldn't happen.

I realize that there would be a lot of work involved in this. However, discussing an engine change should not be considered ridiculous. A lot to ask, yes. But not ridiculous.

Also, as I said before, it wouldn't need to be on CryEngine.

Yeah, but sour-

Nevermind, 10k objects on source would kill me.

My current inner child life long autistic goal is to be able to run Blockland with max settings and create videos with them.

My imagination goes through the roof, but my computer specs on the other hand, they dont.

Now that I think about it. Torque maybe the best engine for Blockland.

--- Quote from: Ephialtes on January 01, 2013, 08:56:38 PM ---So you think switching to an engine like Cryengine which is far more graphically intensive is going to be beneficial to those people? Those people use stuffty old computers and the world has moved on. I don't get what point you're even trying to make there.

I have no idea what I was thinking either. I somehow took advantage of OP thinking it ran smoother.

There's no way that I could make this. I'm no game developer.
