So, my dad is getting my old computer very soon. I'm trying to fix the poor virus ridden thing up and get it back to its prime.

How do you fix a virus ridden Computer? Do you run tons of 'malwarebytes' type programs or are you going to wipe the hard drive?

Do you think they'll be discontinued by February? It turns out I have a strong chance of getting all the parts then.

Theres alot of antivirus programs and tools that can help with viruses if you look hard enough
Personally I use a mix of Comodo, Security Essentials, MalwareBytes (MB comes with a "Chameleon" feature which allows you to launch MB even if theres a virus preventing MB from starting up normally), and some bootable rescue disks
Like I said, theres alot that can help if you look hard enough

In other words I'm nuking the drive and keeping it clean.
