should a liquid cooling pump be connected to a case fan socket or a fan-to-molex adapter

The motherboard temperature isn't a good indication for what your CPU/GPU temp would be so running it at full power with a molex adapter might be the better option. Wouldn't you want to plug it in to your CPU fan connector though?

fair enough, though there are ways to have specific fan ports always running 100%

The way I have my water cooling solution set up is, I have the system fan connector connected to the pump/radiator, and the CPU fan to the fan on the radiator. The system fan speed is set in UEFI to be always at 100% speed with the CPU fan being variable how hot the CPU gets.

My controller has arrived; I have a swag battery charger, also, I'll get back to you on the signal once my wireless receiver arrives.
