I have had a seagate drive for more than 5 years, its a 1tb external expansion drive that I removed from its casing and moved into my pc.

It has yet to fail but its getting noisy and I think its time to make a switch, I got my younger brother a 1TB WD Black drive that runs at 7200RPMs and its really quiet.

I'll probably get the same thing, wish WD would release some SSHD's though, my best bet is a WD Black right now though, since WD Blues aren't fast enough for me. Also for the curious I don't use a HDD for my OS I use a Samsung 850 Evo SSD thats only 120GB big.

I have also been thinking of getting a 3TB WD Green for whole system backups though.

and before you say "zomg piracy", it's free stuff, she doesn't have a computer of her own and her dad wont let her download anything.

Opinions as a boot drive?

I've only had a single hard-drive die on me. It was a WD but it most likely died due to me moving my PC constantly + other things. My new one is running perfectly. (Same extract drive)

I don't understand how one would use that as a SSD

This also trips me out, can someone explain how this CPU works?
