why are you using amd APUs in a system that will crossfire

i have no idea how to build a computer

ask newegg forums or reddit what you should build for the best optimization in your price range, they certainly will not pick an APU

or just wait for someone here to help you

Anthlon is a APU? I thought the anthlon series had no built in GPU.

Regardless its a poor choice, I would rather go with a A8 or A10 if its a budget based build since Socket AM3 is starting to cause bottlenecks.

I'm Running a Trinity Based A8 at 3.8 GHz and it gets me decent performance, GPU is what will be doing more of the work anyways, and thats why I have a GTX 750.

i mistook the athlon as having graphics because of the FM2 socket, my bad

i haven't been up to date on AMD in awhile

Yeah, the Anthlon is a standard CPU, I think its just dual core with HT, but I'm unsure.

Socket AM4 and the new Zen based FX APU's are supposed to be what According to test specs... a true challenge to intel? but it sounds hard to believe seeing how Intel has pretty much beat AMD around like a sand bag.

I'd like to have a Skylake based build but Intel's stuff is pricy for somebody on a budget, the budget users are probably what's keeping AMD afloat.

How can I further optimize this build while keeping it under $540? I already have extra hard drives and the 2 Radeon HD 6870s.
don't get a case that comes with a psu. they will always be crap.

So I'm buying this:

What do you guys think? I'm just going to use it for general gaming, and as a jumping off point for a better system down the line.
>mfw prebuilt

The best PSU brands go as follow : XFX, Seasonic, Antec, Corsair (High end only, their low tier ones are crap)

Mainly due to the fact those brands use high end solid capacitors, always go for solid capacitors.

I have a corsair 500cx and I dont see whats wrong with it?
Except the clusterforget of wires

It's more about how long it might last rather than being objectively bad. Most won't have any issues for years beyond their warranty expires but some may fail quickly

^ What Tokthree said, plus some cheaper power supplies use outdated designs that don't play well with some power saving features of newer Intel CPUs (though these features might be disabled out of the box for this very reason).

Oh lol didnt think of lifetime.
Eh I hope mine lasts for iduno. The next 4 to 6 years untill I upgrade to expensive stuff for some reason

Editerino: Ordered the 10 euro cooler because
1: Cheap
2: Quiet af
3: Does the job slightly better then the stock coolers.

my graphics card is dying

whats even better is i have absolutely no money for a replacement and even if i did i'd have to buy a whole new pc because everything in it is so old.

Did you try updating drivers?

my 8 year old graphics card is failing after doing the same thing every day that doesnt seem right yeah maybe updating drivers will work great idea
