skylake allows for ddr4 ram but at the moment it really doesnt offer much unless you get the better skylake core.

But ddr4 isnt much of an improvement to ddr3 either
True dd4 has faster clockspeeds but it also comes with a higher latency
And the max stick size is 16Gb too iirc while ddr3 can have a maximum stick size of 8Gb. This is only usefull is servers tough. Unless you want a crapton of ram
