[MEGATHREAD] Personal Computer - Updated builds thanks to Logical Increments
Archimedes:
I'm also making a computer over the summer. Here are the specs~
Case- Azza Fusion 4000
CPU- Intel Core i7-3930K Six Core 3.20 GHz 12 MB Cache
MB- (4-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support) ASRock X79 Extreme11
GPU- Triple Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 2GB (EVGA Superclocked)
PSU- Enermax Platimax Series 80 Plus Platinum (1,200 Watts)
HD- 2x 120 GB Intel 520 Series SATA
DHD- 2x 1TB Gaming Western Digital VelociRaptor
RAM- Corsair 32GB DDR3 Channel Memory
Sound Card- Asus Xonar D1 7.1 PCI
DVD- Pioneer BDR Blu-Ray Writer
I also am thinking about a few accessories like a mouse and keyboard, a mouse pad, two 22" monitors to go along with my already existent 22" one.
I'm also throwing in Windows 8, because on my current desktop I have it and I'm quite enjoying it.
What do you think? This comes out to be, well, with the addition of a few other things that I didn't mention like liquid cooling and noise reduction, about $5,850.
Looks like I'll be working a lot over the summer.

Not only are your picks off, but it is a bit silly to plan a really expensive computer months and months in advance. Better technologies will come out and prices will drop before then.

good luck replacing the CPU lol
find out what socket the motherboard is using CPU-Z
then you can make a precise parts list

My 670 is great for 3 screens but I feel like there's a SINGLE (NO SLI PLEASE) card for an equal or roughly similar price (forget, I wouldn't care if it was $100 more at this point) that will perform much, much better.
Anyone have anything in mind? :c I have a budget of like $700 tops for the card.

so would you need one with like triple DVI? Get a 690. that seems to be the only one I could find, besides some crappy 640 card.

I personally hate Radeon cards, because they are for budget builds.

That's not true at all, and since you said that I'm going to assume you don't know much about computers.
