Do you still have the original box? Usually it will tell how much RAM the motherboard can take. I think that your computer would be able to take up to 2 GB of RAM but I may be wrong.

it doesn't say anywhere on the box, where should i supposed to be looking?

Normally it will be on the sticker at the top that shows all the system specs. it should be in the brackets next to the RAM specs.
