I am interested in building one, except I have absolutely 0 knowledge of how to build a computer.

I'm afraid that once I order all the parts I will have no idea on what to do and it'll just be a giant waste of money.

Also, are all the part lists in the OP up to date?

Don't order anything until you do some googling and learn how to do it. Make sure you're confident first.

Yes, the parts in OP are semi-up-to-date (As of 5 months).

Well, I mean, there are Youtube videos and such of building computers, but I can't really learn without actually doing it. I've done quite a bit of research in terms of putting all the right pieces where they are supposed to go, but it's all really confusing, and if I'm going to be ordering a different case than in the video/tutorial, what's the point of the tutorial?!

Do you have a tower PC, preferably one that you aren't using?

Just looked around, found one about the size of a Xbox 360.

I couldn't get the side open completely without a screwdriver, but from what I could see it is just a big mess of wires plugged into stuff :C

also: the HDD for the $1200 model is discontinued, what do
