Is the GTX 770 a good buy? I'm planning on getting one tomorrow, but I'm not entirely sure if it's worth it.

ok here is all I know:

The other day I was playing a SNES game on an emulator while watching a youtube video in the background. The whole computer froze for a second and the sound glitch up but a couple seconds later it went back to normal. Windows did say on the side that my GPU stopped working momentarily. Now today I was doing something on my computer while having a youtbe video in the background again then my whole computer froze. I couldn't move the mouse or anything. The sound was all forgeted in the youtube video as well but it was still playing, unlike before were it did that glitchy loop of a millisecond of noise. The sound was continuing but was very slow and glitched up. This time my computer didn't respond at all so i had to restart my computer manually. Since this happened 2 times I am starting to think there is something wrong with my computer now.

open it up, see if there's any fried circuitry or something out of place. use internet guides if you're not sure what to look for. my mobo fried a couple months ago and i had no idea until i actually decided to open it up.
