Alternative Download URL for Add-Ons not on CDN

Downloading files, but not from the CDN, because "CDN download finished."
Unless that message comes too early by error and has confused me for ages

what you see downloading is, surprise surprise, being downloaded from the CDN
if you've been here for over half a decade, how can you not notice the incredible difference in load times between now and a year ago?
