Not as many who would play it on the PS3 which is why CCP chose PS3 instead. Plus, If Microsoft accepted as well, they would have integrated both consoles onto the same servers (Some how...don't ask me lol that's just what they said) and thus made twice the profit.

enough would play it to justify having it on pc. making it a console game was a giant "forget you" to all eve players

In a way, yes but EVE players don't like FPSs since they are generally an older generation of people and TBH my corporation mates (In EVE) tell me they can't wait to pay stuff-head players to win planets for them. We all get shot and raped while they stay happy in space.
