Poll • Military Weapons

Keep the military weapons to intensify and create chaotic combat.
Cut down on military weapons to keep realism and make finding guns very serious.

Oh dear, looks like a full blown private conversation.

great great!
Quite so, my friend!

Looks highly detailed and it'll be one of the few quality servers, when will it be up roughly?
It will, currently we have no date currently but we might have a small portion of our testing be public for those who want a taste.

i do... im just waiting for you get on steam
I have been very busy, computer was hijacked (lol) and I've got a girlfriend so I've got a lot of things to catch up and do, including you guys, especially you my dear.

Expect a topic update soon, and a new poll too.

I have a C in one of my classes.

In Sweden, a C is a great grade and an A is close to impossible to get.

That's really how it should be in the world.  A somehow became the new "average" (which is what C really is).

Update guys, voting would be very nice!

Suggestions would also be helping the server be more fun.

Low damage is more in blockland's style, IMO. Snipers should be powerful (1 shot headshot, 2 body) but really rare and then everything else should be lower damage.

Then again I don't want it being a full blown team deathmatch, people will hoard ammo and camp out buildings (which should still happen) but I think it should be harder. I'll see what you guys like.

Wow, I thought this already died, guess people aren't so lazy after all. Nice going, keep up the the work, I hope.

low damage, rare ammo :)))

Actually sounds like an excellent idea, it'd force people to actually be accurate, combat would get a bit funky though. I'll consider the idea though, even though you were possibly sarcastic.

Still really interested in this. How much has this progressed so far?

We're cleaning the code, as I stated in the news, so if you're interested in fixing problems we'd be delighted to have you join us.

"Join us ..."

I have a question. Voice chat is a very big part of DayZ. The fact that you don't have to take your hands off your mouse and WASD makes it very convenient and much safer than typing. How are you going to add something similar in DayB?

Good point, I've been thinking of this, and sadly it's impossible to replace. I was thinking of making little shortcut keys, like Counter Strike, except things like "Drop your weapon!!" or "Stop moving!!". These are just ideas, but if we get to a client, we could easily do it. Hell, it could just be a client that you can edit and put your own phrases for your own uses.

It's the only decent way without voice chat, and if you're a fast typer you're fine. Movement won't be insanely fast either, so don't expect crazy getaways.

Why not just have an external web-based voice chat service on the side, with a link in the welcome message? Of course, it'd be optional.
