This looks like it's gonna be extremely fun, amazing.

There isn't much done as I wanted it to be, let's judge around 10% lol

Post it slowly if you do, let's not expose everything.

Wonderful model though, keep it up, I'll get on later.

I am guessing this gamemode won't be released to the public and will be strictly private?

private
Yes, but it may be spread eventually or I will let people create their own maps and I can host them. They'll have to be very well done, as in low brickcount, big, and have a nice twist of their own.

  • $5 USD or less will get you custom player skins and a highlighted "donater" name.
  • $10 USD or less will get you the player skins, a highlighted "donater" name, and access to any testing.
Should those not be "or more"?

Should those not be "or more"?
Good point, thanks I'll fix that, sometimes your brain just stops.

edit: it's been fixed, thanks again

What is done Derroith?

The pvp part of the mod is where it's going to be tricky.
People can easily toggle off shaders.
Without the shaders, they can see much better then those with shaders.

In DayZ, there is grass, lots of it.
This allows for more stealthy approaches than the flat lands (excluding trees and bushes) of Blockland.

I am interested in how this will go and what you guys will eventually reach, but i have some fears that Blockland just doesn't fit well with, quite practically, a direct copy of the mechanics of DayZ.

Hes got a point. I'm actually wondering how they are going to put with that. Possibly fog perhaps? This can make people's sight worse and can add some more stealth into the game mode.

w/o shaders fog doesn't exist

Daycycle, I presume?

If you do it make a good custom one: the mornings should be semi-dim and foggy, afternoons bright and clear, evenings darker, with less fog than morning. At night the fog should increase linearly till morning or something to that effect

That is why we can add some fog in the map and also make it so people's names cannot be seen from a far distance. Lets go with your idea that you said earlier.

there are fog emitters you know..

Fog will be added, it'll be medium sized, enough to snipe but not enough to see everything or look down you huge fields, probably one to two 64x64 plates long. Should be enough to snipe, sneaking is also important, fog will thicken alot at nighttime.

When is the first beta?
