I like how the letter basically reveals that the always-online requirement is not for game purposes. --- Quote ---On behalf of your other employees, I’d like to ask you to fix this. Allow the Sim City team to patch the game to run offline. --- End quote --- "Allow the Sim City team to patch ..." == EA was the one who made this decision and told them to coat it in 'server networking'. Does anyone else have a Blockland region up? The one on EU East 1 with Comatose is practically dead. yay high wealth skyscrapers <3 |

--- Quote from: Titanium Man on March 09, 2013, 02:54:11 PM ---if you think about this, this online and drm bullstuff will only increase piracy rates i mean when they make a pirated version of this, which they will, everyone will want to play the pirated version instead because there aren't that much limits as in the legit game thats what i think, but i might be wrong --- End quote --- sigh, no, this is actually exactly how it goes. basically, theft and piracy, on a curve, are like a bowl: with no restrictions, no protections, there's lots of pirates because of the ease of it. when you have just enough to try and prevent them without doing any legitimate harm to actual users, it goes down a bit. and when you hit this level of stuffheadedness, piracy goes way back up because users get forgeted |

Thank god i didn't pre-order that god damn 70$ "all one day DLC + game" set. My opinion is that voting Simcity down to scores like 3/10 because the internet just didn't work isn't a valid reason to vote something down. If delays and bad launches would be a reason to vote down a game, Scribblenauts Unlimited would be 0/10 for Europeans. |

I understand the constant server issues is a source of frustration for people, but the game is good. I don't care if people think SC4 was better than the previous one or that the many glitches ruin the experience or what have you, but the game is bloody well worth more than what they rate it. They don't rate the game, they rate the servers. This will probably be smooth in a week or so, and then they'll have a lovely time with the game they rated 2/10. That's starfishry in my opinion. Now, on which servers are there Blockland regions with available lots on them? I need my fix. |
