This is true. Not sure if it's Origin only, but probably will be.
Decepticon:
So, I was playing Simcity and I had a good city going, even though a zombie apocalypse was going on. I started messing around with the graphics to see if I could run fairly on High settings, then after a bit I noticed that there was this colorful outstretched line appear, and some buildings appear like they got crumbled up on one side, one had a outstretched point, I restarted from the Main Menu and it fixed it, set everything back to Medium, set Lighting and Shadows to High, and after a few minutes of it running good, it suddenly crashes.

It is confirmed, however nobody is really sure if this means we pick one within a price limit or Origin mass releases just one game, probably the second.

Did you make the switch without restarting? I've noticed that restarting after changing settings fixes a lot of things.
