hopefully it didn't install the viruses with the update.. Did it? Because whenever I.. oh god.. I may have opened with the shortcut.. I don't know..

This is not the single article about this of all the internet, and i've seen on many articles which suggested to launch simcity via the shortcut

the article is discussing an exploit with some kind of browser plugin of origin (much like the issue with Ubisoft's uPlay awhile back)
launching from the shortcut would prevent this exploit from affecting you if it circumvents that
