Re:icons, I don't like any icons on my desktop, I usually just hide it.

Gives me more of an incentive to be more organized.

I find it so gross how people have application shortcuts on their desktop. Use the taskbar damn it lol.

Yep.

Calm down, I only heard it from my dad that is an IT specialist and works on computers for a living.

He must be a pretty bad IT specialist.

Why does my GPU usage jump around?

GPU usage tends to spike up and down as you move windows around and stuff. The usage will spike as it draws the window quickly, then drop back down once the image is rendered. You can see it if you take a window and shake it around really fast for a few seconds. The usage will spike way up.

I don't even use that. I keep all my icons in my start menu, out of view.

If he was then he would've been fired as soon as he was hired, 6 years ago.

I always hide icons, lol. Lets me see my cool wall paper better.

If he thought icons slowed down your computer, there is no arguing he doesn't actually know much about computers.

So much this. Its unbelievably ridiculous. Only alternative possibilities are:  he was teasing you, you misunderstood what he said, or you are lying to pass the blame onto an authority figure.

Just because he thought something doesn't mean he doesn't know anything, jackass. Plus he works at an Air Force base so he definitely wouldn't have gotten the job if he didn't know anything about computers.
If this is right, then he is technically right, but wrong at the same time.

you misunderstood what he said
I probably could have, don't know.

I have two monitors but one isn't working at the moment, where do you get those backgrounds that go across both screens, Or is it a setting?

pretty sure that it's a setting. my friend had two monitors before and that's how he set it up, i think

My desktop is 90% cluttered with useless files/folders that I saved on desktop for no reason.
