If you have saved while you have legacy doors enabled, you will have to remake all JVS events, but disabling the legacy doors will give you back JVS events. Dunno why they overwrite, kinda stupid IMO.

I have no experience with coding or anything like that, but even without legacy doors the JVS doors were invisible and couldnt be opened, plus the pods would not work (and i gave up after that point)

Sounds like one of the supports for JVS isn't enabled. Whoever is hosting, comb through server, event and brick add_ons and check to make sure all things JVS are enabled. If still nothing, re-download all JVS files.
