Dr.Block:

--- Quote from: Badger on January 27, 2013, 11:16:44 PM ---you're wrong, I don't want to change this into a war of opinions but, the national socialists were a smaller faction in the german ranks although they played a big role it does not mean they represent the country.... in a way they did with their propoganda but mainly this is offencuve to germans in general seeing as its calling them a murederous group of people at the time, as most "national socialists" were  trained to hate the jews and their religion,(reffering to Riddlers youth) this is sterotyping which germans do not exactly proud if what their ancestors did. remember not all german soldiers were heartless murderers.

also what? you're sterotyoical if you think that calling the country by it's real name means te national socialists are still active, but i think the way to make that better is what kniaz said, like axis vs allies

Reading this, I think we're basically saying the same thing here. The point I'm trying to make is that most people's reaction to a WWII game is that they're going to be fighting national socialists. I understand that view isn't really accurate, but the larger part of the audience is going to call the German side "national socialists" anyway, so officially naming them Germany creates the connection in their minds "Germany = national socialists." But in perspective, just calling them national socialists to start with would create the same problem.

In all honesty, I'm reading too much into it, and my idea of national socialist Germany is based upon ignorance. I blame the public school system.

Badger:
Can you link me to that weapon pack?
Snick0rz:
Why not call it either SS or Wehrmacht?

Not every soldier in the army was a national socialist at that time, you're really confusing the SS with the Wehrmacht, which was basic people all around.

NAme the teams:

(German Army)

And Allied Forces
Or Allies
Or American Army
Or (Enter Country Here) Army

Fun Fact:
Many Germans in the ranks weren't national socialists, infact, many people, even high ranking officers, really despised Riddler, mainly because he when from his rank during World War One to the commander of the German army in WWII

:\ "national socialist's" are a political party, also. And come to think of it, you should just make it "Axis" and "Allies."
