Tf2 Broke

MaroonCacti²:

So today i was talking to my friend on skype and was asking him how to download HLDJ.
As he was helping me he told me to go to Library>Tf2>right click>properties>launch options

Then when i was in launch options he told me to type " -console -novid -dxlevel 60 "

He said "console" was to launch the game with console and the other two would make the game look better and be less laggy.

Here is an image of a player before i typed these things in:

Here is an image of some players after i ran the game with these options:

Notice how the pyro in the second image isn't shiny but in the first image the pyro's boots and gloves and stuff were shiny?

Now all the shiny/glare stuff is gone and all the models have really bad lighting and no glare.

Someone told me that i need to set my graphics options back to default so i did and they still look like this.

I also removed all of the launch options i typed in earlyer.

If anyone could tell me why this is happening or how to fix it i would be greatful.

Fastlex:

Run the game once with -dxlevel 91
After launching TF2 Exit then remove -dxlevel 91

Oh my god thank you so much

Treynolds416:

yea what you did was change DX to version 6.0
Most current graphics cards use DX11...

TF2 can't handle DX11 though... it goes up to DX 9 Only.

Unless their is a way to get Direct X11 on TF2, heck I'd be happy with at least Direct X10 being added to tf2.
