also i knew it was a trap
because I've heard of different ones before (and i saw one where theres was a sleeping warrier surrounded by some good items and when i attacked the spider 4 more warrier spiders spawned)
but i thought it would just spoil my food cuz of the icebox being there
guess i didn't think of the winterometer

Died on day 29 because of that damn tree monster. It forced me out of my base during the winter, I died, respawned at those stone points twice and froze to death.

yeah
keep a chest near the touch stones with a spear, some armor, and any sort of winter hat. Also maybe some healing salves?
maybe even some food in an icebox too, jerky preferred because it spoils less fast

To the point where I started to fabricate personality traits like a drinking habit and a short-fuse temper about him
and take him places to stave off loneliness
and once died looked for another gnome
