Why not make Gear Shift for vehcile?

So because cubelands made a suggestion/request for a stick shift car it's suddenly bad? I don't quite get it.
OT: Stick shift would be cool, although I'm not completely sure it would be necessary.

I think it might be possible, have a few different types of acceleration and top speed datablocks that switch at a certain point.
